On a family cruise, a young girl, Shenxiu, falls overboard into a kaleidoscopic, dreamlike ocean world of swirling colour and cascading water. With the help of the extravagant Captain Nanhe and his fantastical Deep Sea Restaurant, Shenxiu embarks on a soul-discovering journey to reunite with her mother.

Deep Sea is a heartfelt coming-of-age story that took several years to make. It uses pioneering CG animation that celebrates the splendour of Chinese ink painting.
