We will be having 3 sessions: A showcase, a Calderdale competition and our loved HBFF National and International shorts competition along with a panel and award ceremony. This is a cinematic event not to be missed. Along with other silent comedy extracts featuring Charlie Chaplin and Snub Pollard I shall be introducing the truly hilarious  Big Business – in my opinion the finest short comedy that Laurel and Hardy ever made. If you’re only familiar with Stan and Ollie‘s sound films then Big Business will be a real eye-opener. We also screen Buster Keaton‘s masterpiece Sherlock Junior- which is packed with superb visual gags , death  defying stunts and audacious cinematic trickery. These films will feature live piano accompaniment by the brilliant Kirsty Newton who is also thrilled to be appearing alongside such giants of the silver screen. Paul Merton.
