Friendly piglet Babe finds himself on Mr Hoggett’s farm. He soon gets to know all the animals that live there and discovers his unusual talent for communicating with sheep. His gentle approach and friendly manner soon see him take control, under the spotlight and competing against the very best sheepdogs!
Adapted from the classic British children’s book by Dick King-Smith, The Sheep-Pig, Babe is relocated to Australia, where it was adapted into a screenplay by director Chris Noonan alongside Mad Max director George Miller (who went on to direct the film’s sequel, Babe: Pig in the City).
Due to its inventive use of puppetry and real animals, Babe won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 1996, as well as receiving nominations for Best Picture and Best Director!
