The Shining (15) 1980

Jack Torrance accepts a caretaker job at the Overlook Hotel, where he, along with his wife Wendy and their son Danny, must live isolated from the rest of the world for the winter. But all work and no play leads to a psychological disturbance in which Jack becomes haunted by the hotel's disturbing past and begins to terrorise his family. Stanley Kubrick creates a deeply ominous atmosphere thanks to nightmarish visuals and committed performances from the cast in this undeniably disturbing horror masterpiece.
